आप्पा परब यांच्यासोबत राजगड फिरण्याच्या संधी

नमस्कार,

मागे एकदा एका संस्थेने आयोजिलेल्या ट्रेकबद्दल माहिती देण्यासाठी धागा उघडला होता. तसेच दोन आकर्षक ट्रेक आयोजिल्याचे समजले आहे. अनेक मिपाकरांकडून ट्रेकबद्दल विचारणा आल्या, 'आम्हाला घेऊन न गेल्याने निषेध' :) असे प्रतिसाद आले. म्हणून म्हटलं की मला कळलेली ही माहिती इथे शेअर करावी म्हणजे इच्चुकांना लाभ घेता येईल. आयोजक संस्थांशी/ग्रूप्सशी माझा काहीही संबंध नसून ही केवळ माहिती म्हणून इथे टाकत आहे; जाहिरात करायचा हेतू नाही. :)

शुक्रवार , ३१ ऑक्टोबर २०१४ ला मुंबई येथून राजगड कडे खाजगी बसने रात्री १० वाजता प्रस्थान.

शनिवार , १ नोव्हेंबर २०१४ - भल्या पहाटे राजगड पायथ्याशी आगमन. तिथून श्री अप्पा परब यांच्या बरोबर गड भ्रमन्तीस प्रारंभ. व रात्री राजगडावर मुक्काम .

रविवार , २ नोव्हेंबर २०१४ - सकाळी पुन्हा श्री अप्पा परब यांच्या बरोबर गड भ्रमन्ती व नंतर सायंकाळी मुंबई कडे प्रयाण. रात्री १० वाजेपर्यंत मुंबईत आगमन.

संपूर्ण खर्च रु. 1400/- (रुपये एक हजार चारशे फक्त ) प्रती व्यक्ती ( प्रवास व जेवण अंतर्भूत ). शनिवारी सकाळचा एक वेळचा नाश्ता स्वतः आणणे.

लवकरात लवकर आपली नावे या वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण ट्रेक साठी आपल्या भ्रमंती मुल्यासकट नोंदवा. नोंदणी करण्याची अंतिम तारीख :-

विशेष सूचना : गडावर निवासाची व्यवस्था नसल्याने थंडी साठी अंथरूण पांघरूण अवश्य आणावे. sleeping bag असल्यास उत्तम.

Bhramar have organized a Trek to Rajgad on 08th - 09th NOV '14.(Starting 07th Night)
Renowned Historian Shri Appa Parab will be with us to explore history of Rajgad.
Brief introduction about Shri Appa Parab is given at the end of this email.

Some Information about the fort:
Rajgad
Type: Hill Fort
Height: 4182 feet
Grade: Medium

About Rajgad:
Rajgad – The name describes the place itself - The king of all the forts.
It is to the south-west 40 Kms from Pune. It boasts the highest number of days stayed by Chhatrapati
Shivaji Maharaj on any fort. He spent almost 25/30 yrs here. Rajgad is famous for its construction.
The fort can be divided into four different parts based on geographical terrain and fortification. There
are the three sub-plateaux (Machee) namely Padmavati Machee, Suvela Machee and Sanjevani Machee,
and at the centre is the Ballekilla.
Padmavati Machee (north end): This machee is the site of Padmavati Temple, Padmavati Lake, Chor
Darwaja, Pali Darwaja, Gunjavane Darwaja, Daru Kothar (storage of arms and ammunition),
Diwankhana, Rajwada (ruins), Ghod Tale (Horse Lake), Sadar (office) and Dhalkathi (flag hoisting place).
Sanjeevani Machee (southwest/west end): This huge, beautiful and royally constructed machee faces
west and has a three-stepped (layered) fortified structure. Each of the lower levels is separated from the
higher one by a fortified bastion with a gate that could be defended independently. The lowest level is
beautifully fortified by double curtain walls (chilkhathi) separated by a deep trench, on average 12 feet
across. One can walk between these walls. The outer wall has openings to let soldiers out for sudden
attack.
Suvela Machee (south east): This is another grand machee facing east with lots of secret routes and
doorways. This one is a double-stepped fortified machee with the steps separated by a beautiful
bastioned doorway. At the end of first step a hole cuts across the rock; one can sit in this hole (nedhe).
The final (lowest) step like Sanjeevani Machee has a double curtain wall. To the south side of this
machee one can see a beautiful triangular bastion called Kaleswari buruz having an escape door near it.
The home of the renowned military leader Tanaji Malusare was in this machee.
Bale Killa (centre): This is the highest part of the fort which has remains of palaces, water cisterns and
caves. It has a beautiful entrance door called Mahadarwaja. One can view the whole fort and the vast
surrounding expanse.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Friday Night.07th NOV 2014
Meeting Point: Thane East, Near Anand Talkies,11:30 PM sharp
Our journey starts with the private vehicle from Thane till Gunjavne, the base village of Rajgad.

Day 2: Saturday 08th NOV
> Start our trek by 7:30 am, reach the top till 10.30 AM.
> Explore two Machi and the Ballekilla till the eve.
> Dinner, and go to bed (we will be sleeping in the temple on the Padmavati machi.)

09th Nov:
> Explore the remaining fort
> Start descending.
> Lunch by 2 at the base village.
> Start our journey back by bus/private vehicle
> Return back to Mumbai by 8 pm tentatively.

The cost for the event will be Rs 2000/- per head, which includes,

A haversack to put in all the things to be carried....so that one has ones hands free while trekking. (Please
do not carry sling bags or Jholas.)
