The BJP government in Maharashtra has stated that a gift of an immovable property, whether oral or written, under the Muslim law will be considered as a valid one, even if the deed in this regard has not been registered.

थोडक्यांत भाजप सरकारने असे घोषित केले आहे कि काहीही कागदपत्रे न करता मुस्लिम मंडळी आपली स्थावर संपत्ती दुसऱ्याच्या नावे करू शकतात आणि ह्याला "भेट" समजले जाईल. इतर धर्मीय प्रमाणे त्यांना अश्या मालमत्तेवर स्टॅम्प ड्युटी वगैरे भरावी लागणार नाही.
